Renting before an NIE as a non-EU non-resident: what changes
This version is for non-EU citizens who do not yet live in Spain.
The order of steps (sign with your passport, arrive, register on the padrón, get your TIE or non-resident NIE, then convert or open the bank account) is in Renting before you have an NIE or a Spanish bank account. What changes for a non-EU non-resident (a euro-area account pays by SEPA transfer while other accounts are harder to use, and the NIE can be requested from a consulate) is in the section for non-EU citizens on the same page. Payments from abroad and fraud checks are in Renting as a newcomer: searching from abroad, with no NIE and no Spanish bank account.
